Am I always the one who texts first? 💭

One-sided relationship test: who puts in more?

No trick questions, no star signs: this test uses your WhatsApp chat (or Instagram, or Messenger) to see how the effort is split. Who texts first, who says “miss you”, who suggests plans, and who backs down first after an argument.

💞 Couple mode already picked. Free, and your chat never leaves your phone.

How it works

  1. 1

    Export your chat

On WhatsApp: open the conversation, tap your partner’s name and Export chat → Without media. The more months, the better.

  2. 2

    Upload it here

Tell us which of the two is you. It’s analyzed in your browser: the file isn’t uploaded anywhere.

  3. 3

    See the split

A 0–100 reciprocity score, each person’s share of the effort, and whether the relationship is warming up, cooling down or steady lately.

What we look at

What it measures in a couple

In a relationship it’s not about who sends more messages, but about who keeps the day-to-day going. These are the signals that count in Couple mode:

  • Who texts firstWho picks the conversation back up each day or after a silence.

  • Affection“Love you”, “miss you”, pet names and hearts: who says them more.

  • Support“How are you?”, good-luck messages, congratulations: who checks in on the other.

  • EffortWho writes more, and in more detail, instead of one-word replies.

  • PlansWho suggests doing things together, and who says yes.

  • Making upWho says sorry and backs down first.

  • Reply speedHow long each of you usually takes to reply.

  • Good morning & good nightThe small rituals that say “I’m thinking of you”.

Just for fun, it also counts who complains more (not scored). A high score doesn’t mean a perfect relationship: it means you both put in about the same in the chat. And what doesn’t happen in the chat, like what you say in person, it can’t see.

What’s yours stays between you

The chat is analyzed on your own phone. It isn’t sent to any server, there’s no account, and we don’t keep names or messages.

If you want to talk it over together, you can share the result card: it carries the score and a few stats, never your messages.

FAQ

Is this a compatibility test?

Not in the star-sign or questionnaire sense. It measures reciprocity: whether you both put a similar effort into the conversation. A couple can be very compatible and still have a lopsided chat (work, personality), so treat it as a starting point for a conversation.

Can we do it together?

Yes: one of you exports the chat and uploads it. The result is shown from the uploader’s point of view (“you” and your partner), but the numbers are the same for both.

Does it detect cheating or lies?

No, and be wary of any tool that promises that. It only measures patterns in your conversation: who texts, how much, how and when.

Does it work if we barely text?

If most of your life happens in person, the chat only tells part of the story. Under 200 messages or two weeks, the result comes with low confidence.

What if the score is low?

It means one of you does more of the work in the chat. Look at which signals (plans, affection, who texts first) and whether it changed over time; the guide are they losing interest? helps you read it calmly.
