Friend zone test: friends, or something more?
The classic question: do they like you, or do they see you as a good friend? Instead of a quiz, this test reads the words they use with you: whether they sound like a date (“I like you”, “dinner, just us”) or a buddy (“bro”, “dude”), whether they flirt back, and whether they talk about other people they’re into.

What we look at
What it looks at to spot the friend zone
The friend zone isn’t about not getting replies: it’s getting replies **like a friend**. That’s why the test compares tone, not just message counts:
Date words or buddy wordsCounts romantic expressions (“I like you”, “gorgeous”, 😘) against friendly ones (“bro”, “dude”) for each of you. It also flags when they talk about other people they’re seeing.
Do they flirt back?If your compliments and nicknames don’t come back, the balance shows it.
Late-night chatsWho keeps the conversation going when it’s late.
PlansWho suggests meeting up and who says yes.
Who reaches outWho starts the conversations. A comfy friendship can be very balanced here too.
Interest in youWho asks about the other, and who just answers.

FAQ
How do I know if I’m in the friend zone?
Typical signs in a chat: buddy words, flirting that isn’t returned, stories about their dates, and plans that are always in a group. The test counts several of them in your real conversation. More in the guide friend zone signs over text.
Can it be wrong?
Yes. It reads words and patterns, not intentions: some shy people text very “buddy-like”, and some people are affectionate with everyone. And with few messages the result comes with low confidence. Use it as a hint, not a ruling.
What if it says “Just friends”?
It means you both talk like friends, with no romantic signals from either side. You can run it again in Friendship mode to see whether that friendship is mutual.
Does it understand mixed languages?
It understands English, Spanish and Catalan, even mixed in the same conversation.
Does it work for Instagram chats?
Yes, Instagram and Messenger DMs too, as long as it’s a one-on-one conversation.
